The 25 mile Obliteride route follows one of the most popular recreational rides in the Seattle city limits, following Lake Washington from down to Seward Park and back with a jaunt around the south end of Lake Union. It is reasonably flat with less than 1000 feet of total elevation gain that comes primarily as you traverse the arboretum on the way out, and then climb up from Lake Washington on the way back.
Training for this particular route doesn’t need to be overly intensive, and even a few hours a week in the saddle will have you plenty ready to ride. Check out more about the route at the Obliteride website, and here is their proposed training plan:
